Sales Engineers will assist in completing RFPs, proposals, develop and present reporting to address each business requirement and travel to meetings with potential clients. The Sales Engineer will also create customized demos and addresses all technical requests during the sales process This position includes all of the following aspects: Intermediate knowledge of technical SEO, preferably with 2-3 years of direct in-house and/or agency experience. In-depth knowledge of website marketing and analysis, including search engines, email, affiliates, and CRM Exceptional presentation skills and client-facing experience Expert in Internet and online marketing Website analytics and analytic vendors Product demos (once trained) Working knowledge of Linux, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, & Apache Tomcat Servers Knowledge and experience with complex sites, preferably experience with large ecommerce sites
Responsibilities: Create and present product demonstrations via web conference and onsite at client offices Translate client reporting or analysis objectives into solutions based on implementation or configuration Answer technical and logistical questions during the sales process through documentation, presentations, and demonstrations Assist major account executives in creating client presentations and solution strategy Develop knowledge about competing products, and develop sales strategies to address Assist in proof of concepts by working with prospects to define deliverables and scope, coordinating with the Implementation team, and working with prospects to prove deliverables are complete Participate in road shows, conferences, and other sales opportunities Document other client product requests and requirements for product management and engineering departments Maintain the technical aspects of the software’s support sites Provide thought leadership content to Marketing for Blogs, Social Pushes, Webinars, etc.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have the following proven experience and characteristics: At least 5 years previous success in a technical pre-sales or consulting environment Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint), email, and how the Internet and websites work Ability to travel up to 50% Familiar and skilled with graphics programs to create presentations (i.e., Adobe Photoshop) Must be self-managed, responsive, and dedicated to customer support Understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and web protocols Experience with Linux and writing MySQL queries Strong verbal and writing skills (writing samples helpful) Project management skills in delivering on time solutions that routinely exceed customer needs Must be versed in software project lifecycle methodologies Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills Bachelor's degree
Special Consideration Given For: Master's degree or other advanced education Experience in technical pre-sales in the web analytics, business intelligence, or Search industries Experience in Web marketing projects (email, search engine, affiliate, and site optimization) Degree, education, or experience in statistics or statistical analysis Web development experience Demonstrated exceptional sales or consulting skills from previous employment
