The Search Marketing Account Strategist is responsible for overseeing the overall paid search client strategy working to set and achieve client goals through new and existing campaigns. This role is specifically created for Covario’s top tier clients to help serve them in expanding their overall marketing footprint. The role focuses on growing the marketing opportunity with established countries/campaigns but and also driving growth through emerging markets with an emphasis on BRIC, (Brazil, Russia, India and China) as well as other emerging markets. The SEM AS will be responsible the development and delivery of client quarterly business reviews, industry market research, trend analysis and writing POVs as part of the overall client service offering. They will work closely with the SEM Account Manager and the various Search Engine Marketing Managers helping direct strategic planning, execution, optimization as well as client communication.  They SEM AS will also work with various SEM Mgrs to review current campaigns, KPIs and identify opportunities to improve campaign performance and fuel growth.  The Search Marketing Account Strategist will need to a detail-oriented, be strategic and growth minded, understand search marketing KPI’s (key performance indicators), be a team player, and effectively use market data, trend analysis and analytics to help make decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall client WW paid search strategy
  • Review WW campaigns to effectively reach client KPIs working with regional SEM Mgrs
  • Lead, discover and evaluate new opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends / constantly review the marketplace for new online opportunities
  • Create and deliver industry POVs to client
  • Develop and deliver quarterly business reviews
  • Assist in running all aspects of large-budget search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns
  • Manage tracking and reporting of campaigns and provide management reports and insights
  • Manage accounts with multiple search engine vendors both domestic and international with emphasis on opportunity insights

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years hands-on search engine marketing experience
  • 2 -5 years account management experience
  • BA/BS, MBA preferred
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Self-directed and an enthusiastic team player
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing large datasets to gain insights and drive business decisions
  • Excellent writing & communication skills
  • Proven track record of success
  • Knowledge of computer & technology products
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced dynamic environment

Preferred Experience (not required):

  • Experience working with Omniture, WebTrends, Urchin, Coremetrics
  • Project Management experience
  • Fluency in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and/or German
  • Experience working in SQL
